As of the start of December Rowlinsons have raised a massive £4760 for their charity of the year Haemochromatosis UK. The firm hopes that a final push in donations from a dress down day and Christmas raffle will take the figure to the £5,000 mark.
It has been an exciting year with one of the main highlights being the music and film quiz which alone raised nearly £2,000. Members of staff braved Snowdon in terrible conditions, but despite the weather all who took part reached the summit.
There was also the first Rowlinsons Bake off, which produced some delicious treats. A special mention to Saran Davies who took part in the Great North West Swim raising a fantastic £570 for the charity.
Donna Eland, Director, commented:
“Our aim this year was to raise awareness for Haemochromatosis and we have made a conscious effort through social media to achieve this. We are also thrilled to have generated some much needed money for the charity who can continue educating the medical profession and members of the public about haemochromatosis and the risks associated if left undiagnosed.
The charity is excited for the future as they have seen an increase in awareness particularly within the last six months. They have also been able to appoint permanent members of staff who can continue the charity’s efforts in raising awareness and fundraising.”
