Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Solicitors
TUPE stands for “Transfer of Undertakings Regulations (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006” and is designed to protect certain rights of employees when the business that they work for is transferred from one owner to another.
Anyone employed by the transferring company immediately before the transfer automatically becomes the transferee’s employee on all their existing terms of employment (including their existing rate of pay) and without a break in their period of employment.
The regulations are complex and if you believe that the TUPE regulations apply to you then we would strongly advise that you seek legal advice.
